The boomerang as a sport benefits from very little media coverage and therefore no sponsors. This situation compels all competitors to support all their tournament expenses, which include the travel, the tournament registration fees & even the hotel if no accomodation can be provided by the organizer. Such is the case for France’s national tournaments, but also in other countries.
This year, the World Boomerang Cup 2008 is to be held in Seattle, WA (USA) in august.
The KOOKABURRA Boomerang Association from Besançon (FR), is holding is auction so as to fund the French competitors’ plane fare to the World Cup in Seattle.

I, myself, because of financial situations, was compelled to resign flying to Seattle to take part to the World Cup.
